Our time in the Badlands lasted only twenty-four hours, but those hours were genuinely a glorious experience! A violent storm swept through the area, bringing about an ever-changing sky. I seized the opportunity to capture the mesmerizing interplay of sunlight dancing across the landscape as the sun peeked in and out of the dark storm clouds. Miles of wind-blown prairie grass added captivating textures to the foreground. In the distance, sculptural buttes, pinnacles, and spires emerged, looking like miniature castles.
